The playmaker was forced out at halftime after sustaining a minor knock on the knee - a move which was meant to preserve him for the World Cup. Eden Hazard's goal came after Lukaku had fired Belgium into the lead. Marouane Fellaini later rounded up the scoring in the closing seconds of the game to cap a very encouraging performance in preparation for the World Cup.

Egypt was without star forward Mohammed Salah as he keeps up his recovery for the World Cup and Eden Hazard expressed his support for the injured forward: "I wish Salah the best and hope he returns. I will support Egypt in the World Cup for him".

Belgium are drawn in the same group with England, Tunisia and first-timers Panama for the World Cup.
