Mohammed Salah seems to be winning the race against time in pursuit of a place in the World Cup. The deadly Liverpool FC forward suffered a sprain to his left shoulder, going down under the weight of Real Madrid star defender Sergio Ramos, an act which saw the much loved forward leave the pitch in first half of the Champions League final in Kyiv. Mohammed Salah was taken off in tears as the fate of the Red side seemed sealed to a loss.
The Reds went on to lose the game by 3 goals to one courtesy of two sensational strikes from Gareth Bale and a largely out-of-touch Loris Karius in the Liverpool goal.
After the match a lot of concerns were raised that Salah could actually miss the World Cup but that seems to have been dispelled by the Egyptian FA and the player himself. Mohammed Salah in his recent post shows himself performing some work outs on that left shoulder raising hopes of lots of people around the world who wish for him to be at the World Cup
A post on the federation's Facebook page read: "The delegation of the national team was briefed on the recovery programme for the player, who is walking well and aims to join the squad in the World Cup, as well as the determination of the great player to catch up with his team-mates.
"For his part, (team doctor) Mohamed Abou El-Ela said that the period of absence of Salah due to injury will not exceed three weeks."
For all its worth we really hope he does make the World Cup, and more importantly represent his country proudly.
