Zinedine Zidane shocked the entire footballing world last week with announcement of his resignation from the role of the manager at Real Madrid. This decision came just few days after he made history with Real Madrid, leading them to a third consecutive Champions League victory. The French legend announced his resignation, stating that he felt the time was right to move on from Madrid.

This news came as a shock to many followers of football with many wondering if there was another reason behind his resignation. Reports now say that Zidane's decision was hinged on recent disputes on transfer targets, Eden Hazard and David De Gea.

Reports claim that Zidane had clashed with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez on the two Premier League stars, the manager wanting to sign both stars while Perez wasn't willing to sanction the deals, believing Keylor Navas was good enough and the quality in the squad was good enough to thrive without Hazard.

The latest clash between Manager and President reportedly ended with Zinedine Zidane saying: "I am done. You take care of the team". The manager went on to announce his resignation the next day.

Real Madrid are yet to appoint a replacement for Zidane.
