| Yaya Toure with the Premier League Trophy |
Yaya Toure in a recent interview with France Football revealed a lot about how he perceives Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and it has taken quite some people by surprise. As a matter of fact, he stops just short of labelling his former manager racist.
The duo had worked together at FC Barcelona some years ago with Guardiola sending Toure out of the club. The Ivorian since then moved to Manchester City where he has become quite a legend having guided the team to their first two premier league trophies under Roberto Mancini and Pellegrini. He was however reunited with Pep Guardiola as the well-famed manager took over the reins at the club.
And now the Ivorian has revealed his thoughts, as concerns his relationship with the Manager both at Barcelona and in Manchester City:
"He was cruel with me. Do you really think he could've been like that with Iniesta? It got to the point I asked myself if it was because of my colour. I'm not the first, other Barça players asked the question too."
"Maybe us Africans aren't always treated the same by certain people. When you see the problems he (Pep) has often had with African players, everywhere he has been, I ask myself questions."

The Ivorian further said : "Pep likes to dominate and wants to have obedient players who lick his hands. I do not like this kind of relationship. I respect my coach but I am not his thing.
"Like all players, I have bickered with my coaches. But at a certain point, men who do not understand each other reconcile. This is not possible with Pep, who is very rigid. The other players will never admit it publicly but some have already told me that they ended up hating him. Because he manipulates and plays a lot with your head.
"...I think I was dealing with someone who just wanted revenge on me. I do not know why but I have the impression that he was jealous of me, that he took me for a rival."
"He stole my farewells with City. I would have liked to leave this club with emotion, as Iniesta and Buffon were able to do. But Pep stopped me."
Quite an emotional outburst there. The club and manager are yet to respond to these claims however.
